Working Successfully and Productively From Home

Working from home is something that can be great, as it allows for much more flexibility and a better work-life balance. However, there are some elements that can put you off and stop you from being as productive as you’d like to be. From a noisy neighbor to a needy pet, there can be a lot of demands for your attention when you are at work. 

The past year or so has forced a lot of people into working from home, and it was quite sudden for many. However, showing that it does work and that you can work from home and get the job done means that it is likely to be the future for many. If you’re new to working from home or just want to make sure that you work more productively when you’re at home, here are some things to consider.


Communicate your expectations

If you are working from home with a partner there or roommates, including children, then you need to be clear about your expectations. Where will you work from? What will your working hours be? If your profession involves a lot of calls and meetings, then it is important that you’re not disturbed (other professions may allow for a little more flexibility). Communicate your expectations with those around you and it can help you to be more productive as you’ll all know what is going to be happening and when.

Interact with your colleagues

If you have a team of colleagues, then you might miss that office banter where you would normally have quick chats to catch up on different tasks and assignments. Keeping that interaction when you’re working from home is still important, so definitely something to consider. Create a regular routine

There are some days when you might not be feeling 100% but can still get some work done. You might sleep in a little later and work from your bed. On occasion, this can work, but really, it won’t help you to be very productive. That is why creating a regular routine really is important. Make sure that you get up as if you were heading to the office, to have a healthy breakfast, shower, and get ready and dressed for the day. You might not feel like it some of the days but you will feel much better for it and it will help you to be much more productive for working as you’ll be in office and working mode.

    Siguro po kailangan din mag relax ng konti kahit work from home naman. Para nadin po marelax ang mind and stretching NG konti para di rin po mangalay. 👍

    Meju malaki din adjustment nung naging Work From home.. Yong environments mo, ess kapag may kids ka. Pero pinaganda lang dahil less hassle kana sa byahe, hindi mo na kelangan magising nang maaga dahil sa daan palang stress kana.. And maganda tlaga ang may regular routine.

    Pag nasa bahay iwas badtrip kasi lalo na pag wala kang sariling sasakyan ang hirap mag commute tapos traffic pa bago ka makapasok hagardo versosa kana po dahil sa pawis, pag sa bahay naman po less pagod, medyo makakaipon kapa po nun makaka tulog nang mas okey po makakain nang maayos at masustansya iwas sa mga fast food for me lang po mamu.
