Can seat up to 1,200 people and would you believe that they even had the privilege of serving Pope John Paul II in 1995? Yes! The plate, napkin, and utensils he used are displayed at the entrance! Anyway, if you are craving for real Chinese food and near Times Street in Quezon City, why not drop by and satisfy your palate!

I attended the Shangri-La’s Pre Chinese New Year celebration to get dibs on what they are going to serve on CNY and I was overwhelmed with all the food served that night, I couldn’t breathe from so much eating, plus my wedge shoes gave up on me probably coz of too much weight hahaha.

Anyway, here’s a sneak peek of what’s in store for you when you dine at Shangri-La. You can actually choose the Menu Sets with corresponding prices HERE. But the below sets were the food served during our visit.

Chinese New Year Set Menu A

Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine - Yee Sang Shredded Mixed Vegetable with Salmon
“Yee Sang” Shredded Mixed Vegetable with Salmon

First on the menu was Yee Sang and said to bring Prosperity to the highest “salad-tosser”!

Next served were the following: Fried Garlic Chicken, Fishlips Shredded Chicken in Bamboo Pith Soup, Misua Guisado, Beef Loin Chinese Style, Yeung Chow Fried Rice, Steamed King Fish with Taoso Soy Sauce, Assorted Dimsum, Sweet Sesame Balls, and Almond Jelly with Lychees.

I especially liked the Misua Guisado and the Fried Garlic Chicken coz nothing like the taste from so-called Chinese restos in my area. I also allowed myself a bit of their Roasted Peking Duck coz the last time I had a bite was last year lol.

Chinese New Year Set Menu B

Jaws dropped when this set came in because we weren’t expecting more! We thought that was it and we were really satisfied. We didn’t know there was another set to be served so you can imagine the food coma after, hahahaha

On this set were Assorted Cold Cuts Combo, Shredded Spinach with Assorted Seafood Soup, Shangri-la Chicken, Shelled Shrimps with Ham and Pepper, Pork Spare Ribs in XO Sauce, Grilled Noodles with Eight Treasures, Steamed Lapu Lapu in Soy Sauce, Lotus Pie, Sweet Dimsum Tikoy, and Hot Taro Cream with Glutinous Balls.

By the end of dinner, we were like all tire.. of eating hahahaha.. “super sulit” and super delicious, you will be ultimately satisfied!
