Moms like me who work on-the-go need a smartphone that can bear up to the demanding tasks we do every day as well as the basics. I use my main phone basically for checking emails, texts/calls and for clients’ social media promotions. I need a separate phone for covering events and my personal social media connections. It has to have great camera features and of course, long battery life. That’s all I need and so far, I’m lovin’ the ZenFone Max Pro (M2)!
The ASUS Zenfone Max series is known for the uber long battery life thus dubbed as the “battery king”. I’ve been using the ZenFone Max Pro (M2) for quite some time now and really amazed at the camera and of course, the 5000mAh high-capacity battery. It lets me work all day without recharging and that’s awesome coz I sometimes forget either my power bank or USB connector, lol.
As usual, when I review a mobile phone, I don’t wanna bore you with the specs or use tech terms. As much as possible, I’ll give you the rundown of how I used it and my observations.
FAST FACE and FINGERPRINT UNLOCK
When the fingerprint sensor technology was integrated into recent smartphones, the mom in me was super amazed. Why? Because there were times that I forget my PIN especially when I’m in a hurry. So, when I got these really “smart phones” that can recognize my fingerprint, I was happy. But then, the issue of messy fingers (because I’m eating chips) came along hahaha. Good thing though, the Zenfone Max Pro (M2) has a facial-recognition system that lets me just grab the phone and point it to my face and voila! it’s unlocked! This phone actually has other unlock options including PIN and Smart Lock. So, you have several choices, whichever works for you.
I took these really awesome nature shots while our car was moving on the highway en route to Pampanga.
I was sure the photos were blurred because it’s the first time I’ve done it plus hubby was driving fast. But lo and behold! Who would have thought an amateur took these photos! hehe
When we came to our beach destination, of course, I had to take photos just to show still shots of nature.
The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M2) is a great tool for a mom like me who doesn’t know how to tinker with the camera settings hahaha. All I know is to point and shoot. I don’t want to mess around with the colors, brightness, etc so this smartphone’s camera was a surprise!
I tested the ZOOM feature and this came out. Not that great but then, I don’t think this phone is particularly made for zooming in yet still came out quite acceptable 🙂 I hope in the future, they can also do something to make the zoom even better.
The Bokeh or Depth Effect is much nicer than that of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 because the colors of the subject stood out and brighter.
Here are a few night shots, I’m sure it could be improved or much nicer if I only knew how to adjust the settings hahaha. I told you, I just point and shoot. But here’s what ASUS has to say:
” ZenFone Max Pro’s main camera is designed to take the best possible photos — under any lighting conditions. The incredibly light-sensitive sensor captures bright, clear, and more realistic photos at any time, and it’s especially impressive in low-light or backlit situations.”
My takip-silim (dusk or sundown) shot. I wanted to focus on sundown so I zoomed in on the mountains. Pretty nice actually, considering the zoom feature isn’t that perfect 🙂
Hubby took this photo above because I wanted a solo night shot and I dunno if he understood or he didn’t care (hahaha) coz the place really looked enchanting even at night time and it’s worth a click.
Of course, a SELFIE sometimes needs a good filter so as not to waste a nice angled shot. This review won’t be complete without letting you see the difference between the original, auto filter and when you toggle on a few settings.
The orig has dim background thus corrected when I set the auto-filter and the colors became livelier when I added a few pop of colors!
Short VIDEO test of the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2:
Battery test is quite surprising because I did a downloaded marathon of the whole Season 8 of Game of Thrones and in some point, checked my social media accounts via wifi.
I forgot which episode is on the photo below, maybe 4th or 5th eps but check out the battery bar, still got a lot of juice to end the series!
I have the Zenfone Max Pro M1 and now that I’ve got the M2, it will go to my husband hehe.. I need the latest version because it has a large and better display, great battery capacity and much-improved cameras.
