For fifty three years, the country’s number one bakeshop has come to represent simple expressions of love that carry tremendous meaning: A pasalubong (homecoming treat) to the family, a padala (send-out gift) to a loved one far away, or a child’s baon (packed meal) carefully prepared by a mother. Moreover, a noticeable trait among Filipinos is that they seldom attend an occasion or gathering empty handed.
