There wasn’t any other peanut butter but Lily’s when I was a kid. I didn’t fancy eating rice in the morning, so peanut butter and jelly was it for me every single day. My lola used to cook kare-kare and if real peanuts na gigilingin wasn’t available, you can always depend on Lily’s which even made it creamier!
Along came another brand but there’s something about the way Lily’s make their peanut butter. It’s been the same taste ever since. Funny though that I was allergic to peanuts when I was young but then I was so stubborn and tried Lily’s. Here I am, married with 2 kids and nearly 50 years later, still hooked up with the same brand, lol. That’s not all, my kids honestly grew up with this peanut butter and it’s constantly in my grocery list ever since! Tho, I buy the biggest container to make it last for a month, lol.
So yey! Congratulations Lily’s on your 68th anniversary and may you last for many more generations!
Last July 21st, mommy bloggers were invited to a fun-filled afternoon of activities including the Bento Box making contest, the Spread-uler where mommies made a weekly planner of duties and my friends and I played with a Giant Jennga where we needed to elaborate on what’s written on each block related to mostly parenting. I also got to bond with my youngest son in Bento making.
After all mumshies and kiddos have settled in their own spaces, we were brought back to the past and enjoyed the flashback of childhood memories with Lily’s. I asked my son what he remembered about the peanut butter when he was still a young, he said “that’s when and how I learned how to spread my own bread”, hahaha
“HINDI NAKAKASAWA” – that’s about sums it up for me and I guess, for my kids, too. As in practically every day, it’s part of our breakfast whether hubby cooks or whips up another viand, my little one will follow it up with peanut butter and bread after an hour. It seems, his morning isn’t complete without Lily’s!
I don’t mind my kids even licking a spoonful of Lily’s peanut butter because studies show that it contains brain-boosting vitamins and minerals to keep one’s memory sharp. It also contains protein, dietary fiber, potassium and iron which makes for a healthy go-to-food for the whole family.
As time went by, Lily’s is not just all classic peanut butter coz there’s the coco jam, the introduction of a healthier alternative – the Lite peanut spread, chocolate and crunchy variants. So, imagine what’s on my grocery list, 3 kinds of Lily’s – classic for my youngest, choco for the eldest and for hubby and I, the lite one hahaha
Brand Manager of Newborn Food Products Inc. said “But from these moments, we grew up and become a mother ourselves – maybe a bit like our own moms but more tech-savvy, hands-on and into a healthy lifestyle. Because of the rise of the internet and tech-based devices, millennial moms have more access to a wide variety of information such as innovative recipes and different research about health. Hence, they have a better appreciation of Lily’s Peanut Butter. They have rediscovered the product, seeing it more as than a snack and breakfast option but also as a healthy food ideal for making cookies, savory dishes, peanut-based dips, homemade ice cream, smoothies, and weight-loss snacks”.
Made from carefully selected premium peanuts, Lily’s Crunch Peanut Butter is 100 percent natural and free from handful additives. In fact, the oil that pools on top of a newly-opened jar of Lily’s is evidence that the product is free from chemicals, emulsifiers or stabilizers. Only natural sugar and iodized salt are added to the main ingredients to create that wonderfully creamy and sweet peanut spread that Filipinos love.
Then there’s also the Lily’s Coco Jam which is made from fresh coconut milk and brown sugar slow-cooked the traditional way. This delicacy is perfect as a bread filling, topping for native cakes or simply straight-from-the-jar snacking.
The chocolate spread fad paved the way for Lily’s Chocolate Peanut Butter, which combines the indulgence of chocolate with good old Lily’s classic peanut butter. High-quality peanuts, natural sugar, and cocoa powder were combined to produce this all-new premium spread. It’s a winner for both kids and adults.
Then, there was a clamor for some extra crunch so that company came out with Lily’s Peanut Butter Crunchy. It has real peanut bits for that unique texture.
Meanwhile, Lily’s Peanut Spread Lite was rolled out to cater to diet-conscious consumers and to those who are experiencing health issues. Sweetened with all natural, zero-calorie Stevia extract, Lily’s Peanut Butter Lite lets consumers enjoy the sweet goodness of Lily’s peanut butter sans to guilt.
Lily’s brand has come a long way. Yet it remains true to its heritage as a healthy, natural peanut butter brand that serves as the modern Mom’s ally in creating fabulous meals and memories for Filipinos families.
