My boys grew up with McDo. My special son had a chance to join the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop when he was, I think 6 years old and recently, my little one greatly enjoyed this year’s workshop together with the children from Right Start Foundation.
Summer is the perfect season for letting your kids learn and experience new things, and so thankful for the organizers for including my son and especially those kids from the foundation. I thought there would be chaos, coz you know kids, but the children were all behaved and so excited!
Now on its 25th year, McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop is McDonald’s flagship family program that gives kids an opportunity to experience in-store restaurant training and learn time-tested values such as teamwork, hard work, discipline, responsibility, and sharing.
They experienced partially serving in the Drive-Thru and front counter. Some were given tasks to get the products and served them, some were stationed in the soda machine, some were taught how to use the POS/Menu ordering, practically how it’s like to be a real McDonald’s crew.
After the tasks, they went back to the function room and were greeted with each a set of the “the Make-Your-Own Cheeseburger” challenge. All were excited!
I was once a McDo crew and it was truly fun to see the children prepared and made their own favorite cheeseburger. Chuckles here and there because they want their creations perfect, lol. But in the end, all wore a smile on their faces for a job well done.
Next stop was “Make-Your-Own Dessert” Sundae making. They were each given a vanilla Sundae and topped it with Choco, Caramel and Oreo cookie bits. Messy but they all enjoyed making their own Sundaes. It was indeed so much fun!
After which they get to eat their creations, happiness in the air for all children!
Now, registration may be closed and almost 500 McDonald’s restaurants nationwide participated but you bet there will still be a McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop next year, so don’t miss it!
