Pregnant moms who are looking for an affordable birthing hospital will surely love the new nature-inspired maternity wing of World Citi Med! Not only is it affordable, moms will also be more relaxed and comfortable when they are admitted to a ‘homey-feel’ room that will not make them feel like they are in a hospital.
That was my first impression when, last August 14th, World Citi Med launched their Maternity Wing with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the 6th Floor, a Mothers Class on the 5th Floor Executive Lounge for moms-to-be with presentations from different doctors who talked about pre-natal care, post-natal care, breastfeeding, family planning and Nutritional Immunology for Women. Expert OB-GYNEs, pediatricians, and nurses were also introduced.

Guico (President and CEO, World Citi Med); Dr. Margarita Santella-Jara (Medical Director, World Citi Med); Mr. Jay Eusebio (Vice-President for Sales and Marketing of UNTV); and, Mr. Raymond Patrick Guico (Officer-in-Charge and CEO, World Citi Med). Also present in the ribbon-cutting were Dr. Meadina Cruz (Chairman, Department of Pediatrics, World Citi Med); board members of the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines Incorporated; Ms. Grace Annabelle Navarro (PVED Corporate Director, World Citi Med); and Pr. Alex Tinsay who led the dedication of the Maternity Wing.
After our session on the 5th Floor Executive Lounge, we were toured around the whole Maternity Wing. Corridors are decorated with photos of pregnant moms and oh-so-cute ones of babies and children. Walls come alive with colors and the nursing station wasn’t your typical one.
There are plenty of rooms that one can choose ranging from Ward, Private and Suite in varying prices, of course. Each room is specially-decorated to create that cool, lively, relaxing and comfortable ambiance.
The Ward doesn’t look crowded, the Private Room gives you that needed space, and if you will avail of the Suite, feels like you checked into a hotel. The only thing that will give it away is the hospital bed. But, sidebars are needed to prevent the mom from falling, so it’s a must.
The Ward looks lively and not the usual dull, overcrowded hospital beds which for me is quite suffocating. Beddings and divider curtains have been replaced with ‘soothing-to-the-eyes’ colors, part of the walls have floral wallpapers. It’s such a nice place to chit-chat with fellow new moms.
The Private rooms are lovely, too. Same beddings as the ward and there’s a flat-screen television. I checked the comfort room and fixtures are upgraded as well as the walls.
Now, the best part of the Maternity Wing is the Suite. Take a look at the photo below. Can you even tell that it’s a hospital room, well, apart from the bed? You can gather a whole lot of people in there! They did an awesome job here!
