The MEDICAL CITY Wellness and Aesthetics Institute Unveils MeDioStar

  
  
      

The Medical City’s (TMC) Wellness and Aesthetics Institute (WAI) has proudly unveiled the
latest in laser technology at its main healthcare complex in Ortigas Avenue, Pasig
City. The event, dubbed “Laser Artistry: A Showcase of The Medical City Dermatology Wellness
and Aesthetic Center
” featured German-made Asclepion MeDioStar, a one-of-a-kind diode laser
technology that offers the safest and most effective treatment for dermatological conditions as
well as cosmetic procedures.

Kicking off the program was TMC Dermatology Head, Dr. Cecilia Roxas-Rosete, who delivered
the welcome remarks. She highlighted the members of the TMC’s Section of Dermatology as a
group of dedicated, board-certified dermatologists who are all committed to delivering quality
and ethical dermatologic care in all aspects of dermatology – medical, aesthetic, and procedural
dermatology. Dr. Rosete also emphasized the need to collaborate with their dermatology
colleagues from the different TMC satellite clinics that are strategically located all over the
Country.

According to Dr. Rosete, the start of the Dermatology Section’s partnership with the TMC
Satellite clinics are aligned with TMC’s overall focus on patient-centric care – providing patients
with personalized management to address their specific needs and empower patients with
correct knowledge and tools to aid in decision-making.

Ten various units comprise the Dermatology Section. These include Contact dermatitis,
Environmental & Occupational Dermatology; Dermatologic Surgery/MOHS Micrographic
Surgery; Dermatopathology; Hair Restoration; Immunodermatology; Laser; Functional Medicine;
Pediatric Dermatology; Photodermatology and Procedural Dermatology.

The welcome remarks were followed by a special message from Dr. Christian Flores,
TMC-WAI’s clinical director.

TMC’s WAI, dubbed as a unique facility within the hospital, is a one-stop shop for diagnostic,
therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions that cater to the needs of individuals of all ages
looking for better health maintenance and total wellness.

Meanwhile, the keynote speakers in the laser artistry showcase program included no less than
TMC’s two top leaders: Dr. Eugenio Jose F. Ramos, President and TMC Group CEO as well as
Dr. Ruben G. Kasala, Executive Vice President and CEO. Both doctors highlighted TMC’s
unwavering mission to be the Filipino people’s primary partner in health by continuing to
leverage cutting-edge innovations across its network while maintaining patient-centric care.

In addition, “Beauty-preneur” and health and wellness advocate Nikki Tang, CEO of DermAsia
and DMark Beauty, was the event’s special guest speaker. Her two successful companies are
synonymous with beauty and state-of-the-art solutions for the hair, skin, and body.

Finally, unveiling the “star” of the afternoon’s program was Dr. Rhesa Martinez from TMC
Dermatology, who gave an introduction to Asclepion’s MeDioStar laser technology. The
revolutionary laser has been completely redeveloped from scratch to bring the most effective,
the most powerful and fastest outcomes for multiple applications such as hair removal,
vascular treatments, pigment removal, skin tightening, and skin whitening.

The cutting-edge machine is also a dream come true for medical professionals and technicians
who would certainly appreciate its innovative design features? These include the Asclepion
MeDioStar’s LCD touchscreen displays an intuitive menu for both beginner and expert
users; lightweight and ergonomic Monolith handpieces featuring a 360-degree contact skin
cooling system that ensures absolute safety; and a multifunctional and upgradeable trolley that
provides ample storage space for other handpieces and accessories, among others.

The event was capped with a tour of WAI’s facility. The Institute is a complex separate from the
main hospital with its own elevators and a relaxing interior supplied with laminar airflow to
reduce the risk of airborne contamination. It features a hotel-like lobby and waiting area, a
dedicated floor for aesthetic patients to ensure their utmost privacy and confidentiality and of
course, the latest technologies in skin analysis, aesthetic, and procedural dermatology.
