A smartphone is an essential tool for a working mom like me because it has become my mobile office. Before the pandemic, I was working at least 6 hours on mobile while attending events. Nowadays, I still work on it because it’s easier to upload photos to be used for brand promotions. The only downside to this is that the battery gets depleted in just a few hours, so I always bring a powerbank. At home recharging to a full charge once a day is a must.
I’m always on the look out for smartphones that can serve me and my job well, in all aspects. Highly important for me are the camera and battery features. I already have a high-end smartphone and buying another of the same price range seemed impractical. Lower priced ones lack the specs I need.
I’m fortunate to be able to review the newly released realme C12 and I’m excited to share with you my in depth and honest review.
But first, please watch the unboxing video of realme C12:
The realme C12 is priced at just Php5,990 with a 6000 mAh battery, Triple Camera with 13MP + 2MP + 2MP Rear/5MP Front, Helio G35 GamingProcessor, 3GB RAM/32GB Storage, and 6.5″ Mini-drop Fullscreen.
The specs are awesome for such an affordable price! It will surely be a hit amongst Pinoys especially those who need a smartphone that can be used for online learning.
Let me not bore you with the tech aspects, you can easily Google it 🙂 But, I’m going to share with you what I discovered and proved to be true 🙂
realme C12 Camera
Since we are still in quarantine, I had to make use of things around me as photo subjects hehehe.. My new plants are perfect!
Photos on the left side were shot using my high-end smartphone and on the right were from realme C12. Note that those are raw photos and no editing done whatsoever.
Though the colors on the right are a bit dull, the details are remarkable and that’s one important factor in a photo. You can edit the colors but not the details. I’m sure the Chroma Boost on the realme will do the color justice.
Here are some examples using the filters:
If you will just tinker with the filters you can get the best colors for your subject. If you can get these good photos with a low-priced smartphone like realme, I suggest you grab one now.
Took these photos past 7pm. If you will look closely, the super nightscape feature clearly captured the images even under low light. The bottom right, under just a glimmer of light, yet still captured the white and yellow flowers!
I love taking selfie shots! I actually have hundreds on my high-end smartphone hahaha. I’m very vain when it comes to selfies and it’s either a great shot overall or I won’t post it at all.
With the realme C12 selfie, I was actually surprised, honestly! Even at low-light, the color still stood out and the details were not so-so but was actually good! The day light shot will give you not just a brighter photo but clearer details and of course, you’ll be able to see some wrinkles and fine lines hahaha.
I love to zoom a bit and more hehehe. When I zoomed my selfie or shooting using the 2x rear, you’ll see it becomes a bit grainy or noisy. This can be expected with just a 5MP Front Camera. But then, only vain people like me would do this hahaha
Overall, I can use these camera features for work and I’m loving how people are reacting to my posts regarding the C12 camera. Here’s one example below.
realme C12 6000 mAh Mega Battery
When I buy a smartphone, one of the factors that could sway me to a close deal aside from the camera is the longevity of the battery. I don’t like carrying around a powerbank coz it makes my bag heavier than usual.
With the realme C12 and its mega battery, you’d be amazed how much you can still do at even 4% low battery!
So, here’s the story on how I tested its battery capacity:
I started with just the factory battery charge. I wanted to see how soon it will be depleted before charging it to full.
I downloaded a series as seen on photo no. 2 at 10:47 pm. Note the brightness level, it also consumes battery. By past midnight (photo no. 3), I’ve watched 3 episodes and still had a 25% battery. Now, comparing it to my high-end smartphone, I could have a lesser charge left.
I continued to use it as soon as I woke up in the morning (photo 1) at 24%, only social media checking and uploading. 30 minutes later, there was a prompt for low battery level at 20% (photo no. 2). Used it still to take photos and even watched 1 episode of the series I downloaded, with the wifi still on.
By 2pm, I only have 5% battery left. When I finished what I was posting on Facebook, there’s only 4% left. Imagine that! From 20% down to 4%, I was able to do social media and watch! If I turned on that Save Power button, I bet I can still do more! Amazing battery test, right!
This is also perfect for mobile gamers, the display, the mega battery plus the Helio G35 GamingProcessor.
I’m actually looking for an affordable smartphone with long-lasting battery for my dad so he can video chat with my sister in the U.S. and guess what? I’m buying him the realme C12!
6.5″ Mini-drop Fullscreen
This smartphone is not just great for video chatting but also for watching your fave movies or tv series, even gaming. With its 6.5″ HD+ Mini-drop Fullscreen, you will definitely love the large display with a high screen-to-body ratio!
My notion before was, if a smartphone is cheaper, don’t expect too much. I was proven so wrong this time with realme C12. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting that I will have an amazing experience with it.
If you are looking for a phone you can use in online learning, this is a great option too! I wouldn’t recommend it if I really don’t believe it will serve you well.
