McDeliverback: A Tradition of Giving Back to Riders and their Families

McDonald’s has a special place in my heart because I was fortunate to be a part of the company when I was in college as a working student. That’s where my husband and I met, too. We worked at McDonald’s Baclaran for several years and have lots of great memories!

I know how McDo cares for its employees as well as their families. That’s why I got teary-eyed when I watched a recent video on Facebook about the McDeliverback program and this year, surprising select riders with bonding parties with their families.

McDeliverback program is an annual tradition and in its third year, the ultimate goal is to give back to their riders and thank them for their hard work all year round. It’s truly a heartwarming video because we all know that family is important but the riders hardly have time to be with loved ones. Since McDo values family time and their hardworking riders, this is one perfect initiative for the company! What makes this program more special is it’s not only for McDo delivery riders but also includes riders from other delivery apps.

I have many favorite scenes in the short film, especially the reactions of the riders upon seeing their loved ones, the happy get-together over McDo meals, and you can clearly see and feel the longing, the sacrifices, overflowing love, and happiness.

This McDeliverback program video made me realize that I’m so blessed to be working from home. But the thing is, though I’m always at home, I’m always too busy with online work that there’s hardly time to bond with my boys.

So, because McDo stirred my emotions with the video, I shut down my laptop, ordered our favorites, and had a chit-chat with my boys over dinner.
